History Tour Number 2

Today we toured these two completely insignificant sites called the Forum and the Colosseum... Really a bore and much to do about nothing. There was nothing really impressive and nothing that was eye opening or worth seeing again and I can say I learned absolutely nothing from visiting these sites...

Enough cynicism and sarcasm, here is one of the best days of the trip so far!!!

Our class during the tour of the Forum

The place where Caesar was cremated and then had a temple built over it.

Remains of Castor and Pollux Temple

Basilica of Julius

Cats inhabit this set of ruins as well, and when we were there this cat happened to "desecrate" some of the monuments with a little kitty gift... It has the freedom to roam over things in the Forum that we can only dream of stepping on.

The navel of Rome, the center of the Roman Empire

Arch of Titus

This monument

Arch of Constantine

You can see the oldest and newest ages of Rome all at once in this photo. Nearly 2400 years of history right here in this photo!
