Dinner and More Travel

We had a dinner worthy of the resort we stayed at our first night in Campania. Sea food was the emphasis of the meal and is a fairly consistent theme in the land that is home to mozzarela, pizza and some of the best seafood I have ever eaten.

Forgot to add this to the last post, but I believe the picture speaks for itself. GO STATE!

The guys at my table for dinner...

Antipasti: Squid with sour greens, lemon and basil...

Primi Piati: Spaghetti con garboneri (prawns) in a tomato sauce. Also excellent! These little shrimp guys are the best tasting thing I have ever eaten!

Secondi Piati: Greens with Squid and two types of fish. (one of those is salmon and I gave it to Adam. I hate salmon.) I am usually not a fish person, but that was dang good!

Dessert is a sweet cheese with honey and chocolate on it. You may notice that I have already taken a bite of it before taking a picture... Too good not to do so...

That there was one good meal!

And I got to share it with friends! All of us ate together in the same room!

Pat is not happy for some reason...

The professors (and our bus driver in the center). Mikesch and Miriam on the left with Francesco and Mark on the right.

Pictures of monuments and sketching can get old. Gotta play with the camera sometimes... More from Paestum later.

Campania has a lot of agriculture and really looks like Iowa. That is not corn or beans though... It is a vegetable field! We saw everything from onions to tomatoes and cabbage. The produce section of Italy!

  1. Loved the I-State in the sand; very cool. Ate at Godfathers tonight, but it looks like we had a bad meal compared to your fare. What kind of wine? You never mentioned the wine or the breads. Did you see any of the superbowl? We were wondering if there was a cheese head for Bruno to wear back to his apartment.
