More From the Forum

I did not get to yesterdays posts due to a massive dinner with guests from downstairs. All apologies... Mussels on spaghetti and kalamari as an appetizer make for a great Friday. Goodness!

Basilica of Maxentius

These things are huge!! And there used to be a roof connecting this wall with the other wall.

The first major entry shift in temple and church design... History!

The other wall of the Basilica is a little shorter... still like 15 feet tall.

Here is a museum that is a Roman building with Chinese art in it from the First Dynasty. Quite an odd mix.

Overseen by Constantine

Caesar and a statue of what is thought to be Augustus (the one without the head, hard to tell who it is)

Caesar

Palatine Hill and ruins of Empirical palaces.

Matt grasping a huge toe.

Museum of the Palatine Gardens

Statue of Aphrodite

Brazen family members of an emperor

A Roman statue made of Greek marble

Can you see the paint? It is nearly 2000 years old.

More family members of Roman royalty

Pictures of the gardens as they sit now

This was one mans garden back in the day. This person just happened to be an Emperor

Beautiful view of the city of Rome

The Palatine Hill is still beautiful

Arch of Constantine

This place looks familiar

Oh yeah... Thats right...
